“Intuitive Listening Skills”The skill of listening is the heartbeat of all communication. If the receiver does not fully understand what has just been communicated, the entire feedback loop is broken or distorted. This course is a “higher level” learning experience in communication techniques explicitly intended to improve the skills in “intuitive” (reading the non-verbal messages) listening. Skills Presented: (1) How to mentally forage the environment for communication cues to understand the context of the conversation, (2) How to take notes without writing anything down, (3) How to identify the “presenting problem” in the conversation, (4) How to design the right question which will let the sender know he/she has been accurately heard, (5) How to accurately interpret the sender’s emotional context and (6) How to reflect back to the sender the message was heard, understood and processed into a response. |
